Do you work in a job where you come into contact with snakes, spiders, ticks, scorpions and centipedes? Are you able to recognise the difference between those that are safe and those that could harm you? If not, then you could be placing yourself in danger.
We offer businesses and groups courses in Workplace Health and Safety Snake and Insect Awareness.
What you will learn on one of our courses:
How to identify snakes and insects that may be harmful to your health,
How to mitigate the risks associated with these creatures,
First aid techniques specific to snakes and insects, and
Your legal obligations as it relates to snakes.
What you can expect.
This is a "hands-on" course conducted in a groups of less than 25 participants over 2.5 hours. There will be live demonstrations (snakes and insects) and practical first aid techniques, such as bandaging. Each supervisor will be given a copy of two handbooks:
- Snakes of South East Queensland, and
- Spiders of South East Queensland.
The assessment consists of a series of questions. After successfully completing the course each participant will receive a certificate and a full course report will be sent to the company training manager.
We are Bio Security Approves (Lic WIDL 06993510) and hold current blue card certification to deal with minors. All our trainers are diploma qualified.
